Sammie belonged to Wendy’s cousin, David, until his death in 2006 when Sammie joined the Naraena ‘gang’. Having had things all his own way from the moment David took him home, he found it a little difficult to become one of a feline and canine family. However, he soon decided to settle and make friends.
Sammie’s big buddy is George and they go off on hunting trips together. Visitors are molested by Sammie for a fuss and I have to check their vehicles before they depart as he loves travelling in cars. David supplied artists’ materials to china painters and frequently took space at shows. Sammie used to accompany him everywhere.
When my cousin became ill, we asked him, “What is to happen to Sammie?” His reply was “you will take care of him, of course”. Needless to say we were happy to do so.
